A wish has come true. We teamed up with our friend Tom Germann from Torillo Basses and designed a bass together. Tom came to me with the idea of a joint bass model in 2020 and in 2021 we started to put our project into action.
We had set ourselves the goal of designing a handmade instrument that in terms of craftsmanship, precision, sound and the quality of its components need not fear being compared with instruments of the high-end category.
As bassists with years of live experience, we wanted to build a true „players“ instrument. Soundwise as universally applicable and reliable as possible. The challenge: The bass should be affordable for everyone.
After consistently focusing on the „elemental“ in the designs, we achieved our goal and are more than satisfied with the result.
As an expert Master Builder at international level, Tom builds each Element with precision craftsmanship. With his skill and eye for detail, each Element is a master instrument in tone and craftsmanship.
The Element is exactly the bass we envisioned. Completely made by hand – even pickups and the optional preamp were handbuilt in Germany, one by one.
Features
Reliability of the individual parts is a major factor in the Element. We decided to use only those products that we have learned to appreciate in our years as musicians.
For us, this includes the durable neck made of Quartersawn Maple, as well as the bridge from Hipshot USA or the tuners from Gotoh Japan.
For the active version of the Element, we have selected a 2-band boost only preamp. This special type of preamp, designed to boost frequencies only, is a perfect match for single coils due to its large headroom and the associated dynamics.
Thanks to the control range of +15dB at 50Hz and +15dB at 4 kHz, the preamp in combination with the Element’s pickups produces a dynamic and full sound with a warm midrange timbre.

Whether already built or made to order, each element is unique. The production is always „on demand“, it is never produced on stock. Due to this way of working, it is possible to perfectly monitor the construction process and ensure impeccable quality.
With the Element, we have designed and constructed an instrument that is new from the ground up. It is not another copy or remake, it is a unique model with its own new design and optimized construction.
